Each year, as part of the Fairley Leadership Program, participants are required to develop a Community Project - which is designed to bring value to a specific area of their local communities.

After feedback from Fairley Fellows and requests from local organisations, the approach to the delivery of the Community Leadership Projects changed in 2022. Over the year, the cohort heard from many leaders from a diverse range of organisations discussing how improving outcomes within the social, natural, economic and built environments might be achieved.

Each community leader explored throughout the year how they might contribute and connect with local organisations or initiatives, applying their new knowledge and developing leadership skills to make immediate and long-term impacts in communities across the region.

The purpose of the "Community Project" portion of the Fairley Leadership Program, is to encourage participants to:

  • Develop project management skills

  • Gain experience in partnering with community focussed organisations

  • Collaborate with other community leaders, to continue learning, and identify mentors
