EMPOWERING LEADERS OF THE FUTURE
Harnessing the extensive skills, networks and insights of our alumni and the collective strength of 9 regional leadership programs across Victoria, the Fairley Leadership Program enables participants to be adaptive, responsive and resilient leaders.
Offering a mix of learning environments we include; face to face, online and intensives gaining invaluable access to key decision and policy makers and change creators.
The Fairley Leadership Program encourages the development of a vigorous network of community leaders by:

offering emerging leaders an intensive annual program that explores the major issues and opportunities for the Goulburn Murray region;

providing an environment where emerging leaders from the business, government, cultural, community and agricultural sectors can develop links and understanding;

enabling emerging leaders to meet and learn from existing leaders; and
-
combining emerging and existing leaders as a continuing resource of skills and influence to further enrich the community.
Specifically designed to develop and maximise an individual’s capacity for community leadership, the year-long Fairley Leadership Program immerses participants from sectors and locations across the Goulburn Murray region in the unique and comprehensive professional and personal development program. Our key focus is enabling participants to realise their full potential and demonstrate leadership in action through our immersive, nimble and adaptive program.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Each year Goulburn Murray Community Leadership (GMCL) partners with our long term supporters and employers to provide a number of scholarships to enable individuals from a variety of sectors, locations and special interests to participate in the Fairley Leadership Program.
ELIGIBILITY
Participants are selected according to a comprehensive list of criteria including a demonstrated capacity for leadership, broad ranging interests and the potential to sustain positions of substantial responsibility in the community. Candidates should:

Hold a decision-making role in employment or extensive community experience;

Have more than five years work or community experience with a still-developing career;

Demonstrate a strong interest in community affairs and a commitment to the community; and

Be ready to accept the time commitment and challenges of the program year and ongoing community involvement.

People from rural and isolated communities, disadvantaged backgrounds, Aboriginal and ethnically diverse communities are actively encouraged to apply.

Is there an age limit for participation in the Fairley Leadership Program?
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to apply for the Fairley Leadership Program.
Does my application guarantee me a place in the Program?
We usually receive more applications than we have places available on the Program, so some people miss out each year. Geographical distribution, cultural diversity, gender, etc. are taken into account by the selection panel along with your personal experience, potential and attributes. If you miss out on a place, you should consider applying again in the future.
How much does the Program cost?
Is the Fairley Leadership Program a Business Management Course?
Will it matter if I can't always attend?
The Fairley Leadership Program requires a strong commitment for the duration of the 11 months. The launch, graduation, opening and closing retreats are compulsory. In order to graduate from the Program, a minimum attendance rate of 80% is required for all seminars, a small number of dinners and study tours to Melbourne and Canberra.

AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF COMPANY DIRECTORS COURSE (AICD)
Goulburn Murray Community Leadership partners with the Australian Institute of Company Directors each year to offer the Company Directors Course, one day a week over five weeks.
