COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Goulburn Murray Community Leadership - Expressions of Interest are open for the Board position of Treasurer.
Overseen by a voluntary Board, GMCL is a small non-profit organisation delivering programs to develop community leadership capacity across the Goulburn Murray region.
The Treasurer has oversight of the organisation’s financial management, ensuring the Board is working within regulatory and legal frameworks and providing appropriate reporting and financial guidance. The Treasurer shares responsibility and decision-making with other Board members and it is an important part of the Treasurer’s role to ensure other Board members understand financial information being presented and the implications of this information. The Treasurer will also be required to engage with the Executive Officer on practical financial management issues.
The Board meets approximately 10 times a year (combination of face to face and online) and positions are open for 3 years tenure. Board members can reside in any part of the Goulburn Murray region. The Treasurer role usually involves approximately 2-3 hours a month. Led by the Executive Officer, annual budget development occurs in October. The annual audit and government funding requisition in December. For more information regarding the Board, please click here.
