Community Bank Kyabram Announces 50% Scholarship Contribution to Support Local Leader in the 2026 Fairley Leadership Program
Community Bank Kyabram has committed to funding 50% of a scholarship for a local participant in the 2026 Fairley Leadership Program. GMCL welcomes this contribution as a significant investment in grassroots leadership for the Kyabram district. GMCL is now calling on community partners to help fund the remaining 50% so a full scholarship can be offered to support an emerging local leader.

GMCL Alumni held its end of year networking event last week, bringing the GMCL alumni community together to reconnect, share ideas and celebrate the contribution of local leaders across the region.
GMCL Alumni reunited to strengthen networks and launch new initiatives for 2026, including “Crazy Socks for a Fairley Good Cause” to raise funds for the Alumni Scholarship. The event showcased the growing momentum of the alumni community and its commitment to supporting emerging regional leaders.

Regional Voices Heard at Victorian Parliament Through Fairley Leadership Program
Participants of the 2025 Fairley Leadership Program, delivered by Goulburn Murray Community Leadership, visited the Victorian Parliament House for an immersive learning experience exploring leadership, representation, and how regional voices shape policy. The visit included a guided tour, Question Time, and discussions with Members of Parliament from across Victoria.

Fairley Keen for Canberra – Regional Leaders head to the Capital
Participants in the Fairley Leadership Program travelled to Canberra for an immersive study tour, supported by sponsors and hosted by Fairley Fellow Sam Birrell MP. Despite a scaled-back approach, the cohort engaged with Federal Leaders including the Hon Milton Dick MP, Zoe McKenzie MP, the Hon David Littleproud MP, Senator David Pocock, and Dr Helen Haines MP. Future Leaders Program Empowers Youth to Lead, Collaborate and Create Change
Greater Shepparton’s Future Leaders Program brought together local young people for two days of workshops, activities, and real-world learning to build confidence, strengthen community connections, and amplify youth voices. Supported by Greater Shepparton City Council and delivered by Goulburn Murray Community Leadership, the program concluded with a graduation celebrating participants’ achievements.
