Goulburn Murray Community Leadership (GMCL) is proud to announce the appointment of seven new members to its Board, further strengthening our commitment to inclusive, community-led leadership across the region. 

As part of Goulburn Murray Community Leadership’s (GMCL) ongoing commitment to building regional leadership and mobilising community action, July marks the launch of the Community Action Network (CAN) Hub — an exciting new initiative delivered in partnership with The Resilience Canopy. The CAN Hub is designed to translate leadership insights into practical, local impact through the Resilience Canopy Practitioner Training in Echuca.

The 2025 Cultural Bus Tour brought together Fairley Leadership participants, alumni, sponsors, and community stakeholders for an enriching day exploring Greater Shepparton’s multicultural and religious diversity. Delivered in partnership with the Ethnic Council, the tour visited cultural sites and places of worship, fostering deeper understanding and inclusive leadership across the region.

Goulburn Murray Community Leadership is seeking sponsorship for the 2025 Canberra Advocacy Tour, a vital opportunity for Fairley Leadership participants to engage directly with national decision-makers. With funding shortfalls, support is needed to ensure regional voices are heard in Canberra. The tour empowers emerging leaders, strengthens advocacy skills, and builds connections that drive meaningful change across our communities.

On 4 June 2025, the Fairley Leadership cohort gathered at Fowles Wine, Avenel, for a day of leadership, legacy and inspiration. Guest speakers Andrew Fairley AM, Ross McPherson AM, Matt Nelson and Vicki Scott shared powerful insights on community-driven leadership, systems thinking and storytelling. The day encouraged participants to reflect on the legacy they hope to leave and reinforced the importance of place-based leadership across the Goulburn Murray region.

The Greater Shepparton Place-Based Program Day has brought local leaders and changemakers together to spark collective impact and foster positive, lasting change in the Goulburn Murray region.

The Cobram, Berrigan & Federation Place Based Program Day has been a powerful day of leadership, collaboration, and community connection. With insights from local leaders, real-world project pitches, and bold conversations about regional impact, the day empowered participants to lead with clarity, care, and courage in shaping a stronger future for their communities.

The Campaspe Place Based Program Day, sponsored by Gardiner Foundation, proved to be an enriching experience for all who attended.
